What do you mean by Search Engine?
Search engine is a system software or a program which
is designed to carry out
web searches. Search engine searches a particular site on World Wide
Web by corresponding to the keywords or the character which are specified by
the user by showing them the content results.
In simple words we can also say It is a website
through which users can search
their internet content and receives a list of Web content result.
The result list which the Search Engine shows is known
as Search Engine Result Page (SERP).
Steps performed by Search Engine:

First of all, the crawlers, spiders,
bots crawl the web for
the content mentioned in Search Engine’s index. These crawlers crawl all the
sections and subpages including content, images and videos.

are analyzed to find internal pages or any new sources to crawl. For
helping bots do their crawling in efficient way XML sitemap is submitted.

When all the data is summoned by the
spiders, they add all the information of all URLs. This process is known as indexing. When the user
searches something in search engine relevant results are shown on the basis of search
engine’s algorithm.

The higher the website is ranked in SERP,
the more the relevant information. The website which rank higher in SERP gains
more traffic.

The process of ranking a website in SERP
by organic method and following all goggle guidelines is Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Earlier search engine results were
only based on the page content but now there are hundreds of variables.
